A Louisiana native, Shelley Hennig’s career began unexpectedly after she was crowned Miss Teen USA, an experience that ultimately led her to acting and her first major role on Days of Our Lives.
Hennig went on to become known for her longtime role as Malia Tate on MTV’s Teen Wolf, which she later reprised in Paramount+’s Teen Wolf: The Movie. Most recently, she starred as Ava Winters in Netflix’s action-comedy series Obliterated, from the creators of Cobra Kai, and co-starred alongside Kristen Bell in Netflix’s The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window.
She will next be seen opposite Nicolas Cage and Justin Long in the upcoming action thriller Best Pancakes in the County, written and directed by Ken Sanzel, as well as alongside Mel Gibson in Hunting Season. Her other film credits include Unfriended, Ouija, and Netflix’s rom-com: When We First Met.
Beyond acting, Hennig is passionate about giving back and is proud to support the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, as well as organizations including Best Buddies and Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
