Phil Lipof

Phil comes to 9NEWS with 30 years of broadcasting experience, most recently, as a correspondent and anchor with ABC News in New York. Before that, Phil reported and anchored for local stations in New York City, Boston, Miami and Idaho Falls.

 

Phil is an Emmy and Murrow award winner, who has covered some of our countries most difficult stories including, 9/11, Hurricane Katrina, Superstorm Sandy, the Boston marathon bombing and the mass school shootings in Newtown and Uvalde.

 

Internationally, Phil traveled to the border of Ukraine and Poland to cover the catastrophic refugee crisis, telling the stories of the women and children desperately crossing to safety.

 

Community is important to Phil.  His desire to make a difference has let to partnerships with many charities including, The Jimmy Fund, The Lupus Foundation of America, ZERO-The End of Prostate Cancer and several others.  Phil wants to continue this work in Colorado.

 

When he’s off air, Phil loves to work out, play guitar, box, swim and can’t wait to explore our mountains.  He and his wife Juli love to run Spartan races together and have two children, Dylan and Daniella.
